The rebuild is covered in the 'Build Diary'. This page will record anything else relating to the subject in general and any info I manage to gather regarding the other four Road Rats that I hope are still out there. Only specific dates are recorded where I can remember them for retrospective entries.

2nd September 2009 Uploaded site update. Added a new page for work done in July 2009. Better late then never.
29th April 2009 Have now received pictures of the Road Rat from Ian and Susan Goode. They built their car sometime around 1994/1996, used it for a year and since then it has been off the road, stored in their garage. It looks well for having spent so long not moving. Check the picture link to the right for some before and after photos. It would be nice to see this back on the road.
27th April 2009 Amazing news!
I had an e-mail this evening from someone who still has a Road Rat. It's been off the road for the last 10 years or so but is still whole and stored in a garage. I'm hoping to find out more details and get pictures soon...

28th March 2009 Major update to the site. Added new page for work this month to the build diary. Added site update entry to thread on Fiat Forum for this weeks work.
6th March 2009 Uploaded new site (RRP Ver. 2.0). Received new number plates. The name "Satan's Rodent", as coined by Fiat Forum member Jim McGill, is officially committed to plastic!
5th March 2009 Ordered new front and rear number plates.
Feb/Mar 2009 Completely redesigned the site.
February 2009 Acquired more parts to continue the 'Rat build later this year. Have decided to junk the Fiat heater unit and fit a Mini heater unit instead so I've bought a Mini heater unit. Have also acquired a different water bottle as I'm going to change that as well and also some round caravan reflectors to finish off the back lights.
29th Sep 2008 Big site update. Updates to the work carried out details for Summer and November 2007 as I didn't update the site at the time. Late, I know, but better late than never.
27th Jan 2007

7th Aug 2006 A landmark day in the progress of the 'Rat. Started the engine for the first time today and it ran perfectly! Very encouraging.

17th-18th Jun 2006
Went to the National Kit Car Show at Newark this weekend. A great weekend, as ever. Bought a set of rear lights for the 'Rat as I didn't like the old ones, which were broken anyway. These are fully waterproof, a push fit and came complete with bulbs and enough wire to connect them up easily. Not too bad for £40.
25th May 2006 Joined the Mad About Kit Cars forum and made my first post.

Received two copies of Which Kit magazine through the post from Damon, aka panda_sport, a Fiat Forum member. They both contained articles about the Road Rat, dated June '94 and January '95. A big thank you to Damon for his generosity as he donated these free and didn't even want postage costs.

Joined the Difflock 4x4 forum to find out if any members knew of the Road Rat and make enquiries about finding the others. Found an old post by someone who had actually owned one in the past! I sent a PM via the forum to ask him about it. I received a reply the very same evening from John, aka Tiddles The Barbarian on Difflock, who informed me that he'd bought one of the factory demonstrators. He sold it on when the engine catastrophically failed and has no idea what happened to it after that. He did tell me it's registration number though. So now, including my own, I know three of the five Road Rat registration numbers. (The other one was easy to find as it's on the car in the photos in Which Kit).

Received a reply to my letter to Nick Findiesen. Unfortunately he had no information regarding the current status of any Road Rats, nor any historical information. He did inform me that only five were produced, including the two factory demonstrators, and that production of the kits ceased in September 1994.

Wrote a letter to Nick Findiesen, the owner of NCF Motors Ltd. requesting any information he could provide about the Road Rat and if he knew of any currently on the road.

Joined the Fiat Forum to see what the Panda owning community would make of the 'Rat. It sparked off quite a debate.
