The Texas Instruments TI99/4A was my first computer and kicked off my life-long love of computers. I'm really into retro computers and gaming these days. Area 99 is my contribution to the on-line TI99 community and I've had numerous e-mails from visitors to the site expressing appreciation for it. It also has the honour of appearing in the top five Google search results with the search term 'TI99/4A'. Not a bad achievement for an amateur site.

It's amazing to see the leaps and bounds that technology has taken and continue to takes. Long before mobile phones, online colleges, and GPS devices, these computers paved the way for much of modern technologies. Regardless, the TI99 has a nostalgic place in my heart.
